Many fake images are spreading through digital media nowadays. Detection of such fake images is inevitable for the unveiling of the image based cybercrimes. Forging images and identifying such images are promising research areas in this digital era. The tampered images are a detected using neural network which also recognizes the regions of the image that have been manipulated and reveals the segments of the original image.
From past several year’s technology is advancing, social media like Instagram, Facebook and social Network Service (SNS) have been used by large number of people and still their emerging of their use is increasing accordingly. They have become a part of our lives. In particular, the development of smart devices such has a remarkable role in uploading and downloading images to those social networks.
In the meantime, there has been different techniques developed for manipulating an image using various methods with a specific purpose. Image tampering can be done by counterfeit criminals for the purpose of counterfeiting. Digital forensic techniques are needed to detect the tampering and manipulation of images for such illegal purposes and many researches have been studied on these forensic techniques.
The purpose of this project is to implement image manipulation detection system which detects the tampered regions given a manipulated image.
